Steve Oberg, Fitness Instructor - Lakewood

I have been a fitness instructor since 1996. My fitness resume includes teaching indoor cycling at 8 facilities in the past 9 years. Currently, I teach at three clubs, My Personal Best my favorite. I enjoy teaching indoor cycling because almost anyone can do this. In the same class, it is possible to have an elite cyclist that races every weekend, to someone who has never exercised in their life. While these two individuals can be on two ends of the spectrum of fitness, I can ensure that both of them get a good workout and feel good about at the end of the class. I have raced bikes for 17 years and have a strong understanding of fitting a person on the indoor bikes to ensure the most comfort. My certifications include Johnny G, Reebok cycling, and HeartZones Blue jersey. Give one of my classes a try, be sure to let me know if you are new to the workout!

Chris Sauser, Certified Personal Trainer

I have been teaching group classes since I attained my black belt in Hapkido many years ago. Until recently I was owner and chief instructor at the Russian Martial Art Training Center and had the opportunity to study and teach self defense with Russian and American Special Forces.

I began studying kettlebells back in 2002 and was certified as an instructor in 2003 through RKC.

  • Phil is an avid alpine skier and cyclist. In 2010, Phil went from being a "non-cyclist" to riding the 120 mile Triple ByPass from Evergreen to Avon over three mountain passes (including the Continental Divide) in 9 hrs. 32 mins. In 2011, Phil rode the Double Triple ByPass totaling 23,000 feet of climbing over 243 miles and 23 hours of cycling. Since the incurable cycling bug took hold in 2010, Phil has ridden over 2,200 miles and climbed over 202,000 feet on his Specialized Tarmac road bike.

In a little over eight years, Phil took NPTI Colorado from being a local, Colorado vocational school to being a fully accredited career technical school with VA education benefits, international students, and listed by the U.S. Department of Education as the only dedicated, international, accredited personal fitness trainer school in the country approved for Federal Student Financial Aid and allied with the major personal trainer certifying agencies.
